The UMD Summer Senior Rental Program offers housing and programming for active retirees during 5-, 8- and 10-week sessions each summer.
Where will I live?
Summer living at the University of Minnesota Duluth provides low-cost housing in campus apartments, easy access to great amenities like a newly updated fitness and recreation center, walking trails, a high quality campus library and art museum, and dining services. The campus is tucked into the heart of Duluth, overlooking Lake Superior and minutes away from world-class recreational and cultural activities.
What is there to do?
There’s always something going on at the UMD Summer Senior Rental Program. Program offerings include technology series, outdoor events, fitness classes, and a variety of Lifelong Learning Programs put on by our professional staff. The Lighthouse, a weekly summer newsletter, will go out to Summer Senior Renters to advertise events at UMD and in the Duluth/Superior area.
Summer Seniors also get together to form Special Interest Groups around favorite activities like golfing and hiking. Participate in group activities as much or as little as you prefer.
What dates are available & how much does it cost?
We offer a 5-, 8-, and 10-week session each summer. Our earliest arrival date is in late May, and our latest departure date is August 3, 2022. Our price? Very affordable. Rental rates start at less than $1700 for a 5-week rental.
How do I sign up?
Our informational mailing for the upcoming summer is sent out in January, and we begin taking reservations at that time. If you would like to receive our annual mailing, give us a call or send an email.
