Why Live on Campus?
Housing & Residence Life at UMD offers the lowest housing rates in the University of Minnesota System, something that we're incredibly proud of. All housing rates include wifi, laundry, and utility costs along with snow removal, and maintenance. Furniture is also provided in all of our spaces, including couches and kitchen tables in our on-campus apartments.
Paying for Housing
Understanding your university bill can be confusing. Housing costs are combined with tuition charges to allow for easy payment and allow for payment from scholarships, private loans, and financial aid. All payments can be made by logging into your MyU account, or by visiting UMD OneStop Student Services.
Housing Application Costs
In order to apply for housing at UMD, an installment payment of $200 is required to complete the housing application. This payment is applied to the first bill of the following semester and reserves your space on campus. Students who cancel their housing contracts prior to fall semester move-in may receive a portion of this payment back.
Fee reductions are available to students with financial need, and can be requested through the Housing Office.
