August 24 - 25, 2022 - New Student Move-In

Most students will check-in at campus parking lot B.  We ask that you arrive at your scheduled time.  (Students moving into Oakland Apartments will check-in at Oakland Apartments - follow instructions you receive via email for your traffic routes.)

Due to a large number of construction projects in Duluth, we ask that you utilize the traffic routes provided below.  DO NOT UTILIZE YOUR GPS TO NAVIGATE TO CAMPUS.

When you arrive at parking lot B, you’ll park your vehicle in the lot.  There will be tents set up adjacent to the building - that is where you will go to check-in and get your keys.  To avoid crowding, your family members should remain in the vehicle.

You will be checked in and receive your keys as well as other information about the other services available to you on move-in day, such as textbook reservation and parking permit pick-up.  After you have been checked in, you will be directed to your building to unload your belongings.  We will have carts available if you would like to use them.

Once your vehicle has been unloaded, we will ask that it be moved to a perimeter parking lot so that other students can utilize the space in the unloading zones.

August 26 - 28, 2022 - Returning Student Move-In

Returning students can arrive on August 26-28, 2022 between the hours of 8am - 10pm daily.

Returning students will complete their check-in and get their keys at the Housing Information Desk in Lake Superior Hall.

Traffic Advisories

There is currently a major construction project on I-35 through western Duluth, reducing traffic speed in each direction.  We encourage you to review the MNDOT website to be aware of any construction projects that may impact your journey to UMD.

The City of Duluth is completing construction on 21st Ave E - detours will be in place.  Additional maps will be provided prior to move-in to aid  in your travels to campus.
